WELCOME

This is the home on the web of Alamo Squadron, the San Antonio chapter to the International Plastic Modelers' Society. Discover the many models, activities and events the club is happy to build, support, organize and promote.

Established in 1977, the Alamo Squadron is a social organization in which all modelers and modeling interests are accepted and invited to join in the fun and enjoyment of making models, as well as the camaraderie of helping others enjoy this wonderful hobby. We are proud to have served the Central Texas community for over 45 years, as well as supporting other hoby clubs in Texas, Mexico, and the Southern United States by cultivating and promoting a general interest in the scale modeling hobby.

BUILD DAYS ARE BACK!!! Alamo Squadron invites all members to our new Group Build at Hobby Town located at 1309 N. Loop 1602 each Sunday Afternoon from 12:00 - 4:00. Bring you latest project and join the fellowship.

The April meeting was held at our new location: Jordan Ford (Pat Booker Facility) at 2411 Pat Booker Road, Universal City, Texas 78148. This will be the new home for our meetings.

THE NAVIGATOR

Alamo Squadron’s newsletter, The Navigator, showcases our hobby-centered club which, at its core, is focused on scale modeling of all kinds, and is an excellent source of information for those who wish to enhance their modeling skills and improve their modeling techniques. It focuses on modeling news, skills, techniques, individual club members and their modeling interests, and the social fabric (scale modeling) that unifies the membership.

The Navigator is published 12 times per year by the club's resident publisher, Alan Larrumbide. Copies are emailed to Alamo Squadron members in the last week of each month with a target of a week prior to that month's meeting. On-line copies are made available here.

MEETINGS

Our meetings are diverse, and cover a range of different activities. Starting with our monthy meeting with learning programs and Work in Progress reports, a biannual, multi-week instructional class, and informal get-togethers of club members to work on scale models in a group environment promoting the sharing of skills and techniques.
